Going to the Algarve in June: quick answers

Is the weather good in the Algarve in June? Is this a good time to visit?

We love the Algarve in June because it’s the beginning of summer with very pleasant temperatures between 22°C and 26°C. You’ll enjoy around 12 hours of sunshine a day and virtually no rain. The sea is pleasant for swimming at around 20°C, the beaches come alive and the atmosphere becomes festive. This is an excellent time to take full advantage of seaside activities before the July-August peak.

Climate in the Algarve in June – weather forecast

Summer sets in with hot, dry weather.

On the coast

Along the coast, from Lagos to Tavira, the climate is warm and sunny. Rainfall is almost non-existent. The sea breeze pleasantly refreshes the atmosphere.

Inland

The hinterland experiences higher daytime temperatures, sometimes reaching 30°C or more. We recommend avoiding activities in direct sunlight at the hottest times of the day.

OUR ADVICE FOR RENTING A CAR IN THE Algarve
  • Compare prices on our preferred platform: DiscoverCars – one of the best rated sites.
  • Don’t take a car that’s too wide, as old towns have narrow streets and small parking spaces.
  • For more choice, book early.
