Is the Praia do Pintadinho worth it?
The Praia do Pintadinho is well worth a visit. It is also one of Portimão’s most beautiful beaches. We were seduced by its exceptional setting, where the ochre cliffs create a striking natural backdrop. Between idleness and entertainment, you’re sure to enjoy yourself with family and friends. The adventurous among you will explore the rock formations between 2 swimming sessions, discovering the mysterious caves that lurk along the coastline.

Type of beach
Sand or no sand?
The beach floor is made up of fine golden sand. We loved lying on it and enjoying the pleasant texture underfoot. This golden sand contrasts beautifully with the ochre cliffs that frame the beach, creating a harmonious landscape of warm tones.

Swimming conditions and supervision
Swimming conditions are favorable on this beach, protected by the surrounding cliffs. It is supervised in season, and the slope to enter the water is gradual. You should nevertheless remain vigilant, as the signs indicate dangerous areas with the risk of falling rocks on the cliffs.

Installations
We didn’t see any showers or toilets on the beach. On the other hand, there are plenty of facilities to enhance your stay: sunbeds, parasols and pedal boats are available for hire right on the sand. A beach mat provides access to the sand for people with reduced mobility.

Access by car and parking
To reach the Praia do Pintadinho by car from the center of Ferragudo, take a relatively narrow road called Rua do Pintadinho. We recommend driving carefully on this access road, which leads to the EDDS Beach Restaurant parking lot. A few herringbone parking spaces are available at the entrance to the beach behind Restaurant Pintadinho, but they quickly become overcrowded, especially in high season.
