The two cities are very different and offer unique experiences.
Lagos offers exceptional natural beauty, legendary caves and arches at Ponta da Piedade, and historic charm.

The beaches of Lagos are among the most spectacular in Europe. We were dazzled by Praia do Camilo, a jewel nestled between sculptural cliffs. This beach is one of the must-visit spots in the Algarve, captivating us with its wave-like rock formations and natural arches. The Praia Dona Ana also seduced us with its immense central pinnacle and impressive golden cliffs. For lovers of authenticity, we recommend the Praia do Canavial, an unspoilt haven of peace with orange cliffs contrasting magnificently with the azure ocean.

Faro beaches

Although the town of Faro itself is not directly bordered by beaches, they are just a few kilometers away and easily accessible by car, public transport or boat. Ease of getting around these cities/regions
Getting around Lagos

Lagos is easily accessible on foot in its historic center. We liked the compactness of the old town, making it easy to discover everything. To reach the most spectacular beaches, such as Ponta da Piedade, a car or organized excursions are practical.
Getting around Faro

Faro’s more compact size makes it easier to move around. The historic center and most attractions are within walking distance. Public transport works well, especially to the airport and the beach. Boats leave regularly for the islands of the Ria Formosa.
Can we visit Lagos and Faro on the same trip?
The two cities can easily be combined:
