Staying at the Jupiter Marina Hotel means staying in one of Portimão’s best hotels! In our opinion, these are its 3 main assets:
- Rooftop: a true haven of peace, where you can admire a magnificent sunset over the city and marina while sipping a cocktail in the pool!
- Location: the establishment is conveniently located near the town center, marina, restaurants, stores and the banks of the Arade River. Perfect for exploring Portimão on foot!
- Design: we really liked the hotel’s resolutely modern style and its curved architecture, reminiscent of the movement of waves. Every space, from reception to bedrooms, reflects a chic, contemporary atmosphere.

Is the Jupiter Marina Hotel worth it? Our review
In our opinion, the Jupiter Marina Hotel clearly stands out in Portimão’s hotel landscape. Its elegant, original architecture is an immediate eye-catcher. But it’s the rooftop that really appealed to us, with its unobstructed view of the estuary, relaxing ambience and panoramic pool. A designer hotel in a great location that’s a pleasure to stay in!
Decoration and atmosphere
The overall atmosphere of the hotel is both elegant and relaxing. In the common areas, the decor combines modern furnishings with bohemian details, such as natural fiber hanging lamps and plant motifs. This combination creates a warm, welcoming environment where you quickly feel at ease. The layout is coherent and well thought-out, with cosy corners for reading, enjoying a drink or simply taking in the atmosphere.

The room
Our room exuded a soft, restful ambience, with uncluttered decor in light, bluish tones. We particularly appreciated the beautiful rough-hewn wooden tables, the macramé mural, the discreet but functional office area, and the comfortable armchair by the window. In terms of facilities, there was nothing to put us at ease: bottled water, kettle with tea, minibar, coffee machine with pods, and safe. The balcony was a real plus, with its unobstructed view of the marina and the Convent of São Francisco de Portimão. There was even a clothesline, handy after a day on the beach.

The bathroom
The bathroom, though compact, was functional and modern. It included a large walk-in shower that opened onto the room, and pleasant-smelling Damana hygiene products.
The breakfast
The buffet breakfast pleasantly surprised us with its variety. You’ll find both local specialties, such as the famous Pastéis de Nata, and international, homemade options (eggs, mini-pancakes, walnut muffins…). The choice between sweet and savory is well-balanced, and the possibility of sitting out on the outdoor terrace makes the moment all the more enjoyable.
Swimming pool and beach access
The Jupiter Marina Hotel’s swimming pool is undoubtedly one of its finest assets. Set up on the rooftop, it offers an exceptional setting for cooling off while enjoying panoramic views over the marina and the city. The atmosphere is generally peaceful, ideal for relaxing between 2 explorations. Please note: at the time of our visit, several seagulls had taken up residence in the pool, raising a number of hygiene issues.
On the beach side, the establishment offers a free shuttle service to Praia da Rocha. Please ask at reception.
Equipment and common areas
The hotel has a large, fully-equipped gym with a landscaped outdoor area for guests who want to keep fit during their stay.
To relax, head for the spa area, with all the facilities you need for total relaxation: jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, and of course massages and other treatments!
The restoration
The hotel features a restaurant and rooftop bar. Although we didn’t have the opportunity to dine there, the atmosphere was pleasant and the menu seemed varied.

How to get there?
From Faro Airport, the hotel is easily accessible by car. Take the A22 westbound, then exit at the N124. Continue on the N124 before turning onto Avenida Miguel Bombarda. Then turn onto Rua Dom Carlos I, which leads to Estrada da Rocha. The entrance to the hotel parking lot is on your right.

Parking
The hotel offers covered parking directly beneath the building, as well as bicycle parking. Electric charging stations are also available for vehicles. A real plus in terms of comfort and practicality.
For people with reduced mobility
The hotel is equipped for disabled guests. Accessible rooms are available, and the entire establishment is served by elevators. Adapted parking spaces are also available in the immediate vicinity of the entrance.
Is the Jupiter Marina Hotel family-friendly?
No, the hotel is for adults only. It does not offer family rooms, and is clearly positioned as a place of rest and tranquility for couples or travelers without children.
