Looking to get off the beaten track and bask on a hidden beach? Praia da Vigia is the one for you! This discreet little beach, wedged between golden cliffs, is only accessible by an unmade path, which limits the number of visitors. We loved its wild atmosphere!
Here are some useful tips for planning your visit to Albufeira’s Praia da Vigia beach.

This opinion is completely independent, based on our experiences. We visited the region anonymously, making our own choices and paying our bills in full.
Is the Praia da Vigia worth it?
Absolutely! This beach will appeal to you if you’re looking for peace and quiet and don’t mind a little more sporty access. At the bottom of the steep path you’ll discover a small strip of golden sand bordered by the ocean and protected by cliffs. It’s a great place to soak up the sun or take a quiet break from the hustle and bustle of Albufeira’s central beaches. On the other hand, there’s no bar, deckchairs or surveillance, and the space quickly shrinks at high tide. Swimming is still possible, but caution is advised. It’s well worth a visit if you enjoy wild, unspoilt corners. In fact, it’s one of Albufeira’s Albufeira’s most beautiful beaches!
The beach is one of Albufeira’s main attractions.

There are no paths to the beach. We recommend that you wear suitable footwear. At low tide, you can get there from the nearby beach of St. Moritz. Julian. Alternatively, near the parking lot below, you’ll see a path winding through the dunes and rocks:

Follow it, taking care not to trip:

Sometimes you’ll have to step over rocks:
