We stayed at the Appart’hôtel Amália Boutique Suites & Studios – by @Rita’s place, in Faro and were pleasantly surprised by our stay.
Its ideal location, bohemian decor , quality amenities and small garden with swimming pool and Jacuzzi make it ideal for a comfortable stay in the capital of the Algarve.
In this article, we give you an overview of the place and our impressions of our experience. You’ll find plenty of photos to get your own idea of the place.

This opinion is completely independent, based on our experiences. We visited the region anonymously, making our own choices and paying our bills in full.
Why stay at Hotel Amália Boutique Suites & Studios
We had a memorable stay at Apparthotel Amália Boutique Suites & Studios. In fact, it’s one of our picks for the best establishments in Faro (article coming soon).
Here are its 3 main assets, in our opinion:
- its elegant, soothing Balinese-inspired decor,
- the many high-quality features that make the apartments functional and pleasant to live in,
- pretty little garden with pool and jacuzzi.

Decoration: we really liked the atmosphere created by the furniture in the apartment and in the common areas. The decor is charmingly bohemian, featuring Balinese-inspired objects in soft colors and natural materials, with occasional pops of color. When we arrived at the facility and in our studio, we immediately felt at ease, almost “at home”.

Facilities: the apartments at Apparthotel Amália Boutique Suites & Studios are very well equipped! We found more equipment, and better quality, than in most of the establishments of this type that we visited. The fully-equipped kitchenette will enable you to concoct delicious dishes with all the utensils and condiments at your disposal. The room has a large, beautiful table, perfect for a meal, and a comfortable sofa.

Pool & jacuzzi: the pool and jacuzzi in the charming garden at the rear of the building are perfect for relaxing and cooling off on sunny days, or for warming up if you’re visiting Faro in winter. They are accompanied by Balinese beds and deckchairs.

Is the Apparthotel Amália Boutique Suites & Studios worth it? Our review

Yes! We highly recommend the Appart’hotel Amália Boutique Suites & Studios for a stay in Faro. This very well-located establishment is extremely pleasant, very well decorated and furnished and equipped with taste and care. The atmosphere is very calm, which makes it easy to relax. What’s more, the outdoor area with pool and Jacuzzi is a real asset for relaxing. For us, this is not onlyone of Faro’s best accommodations, but also one of the best-equipped aparthotels we’ve ever stayed in! We would be delighted to return on our next visit to the region.
Decoration and atmosphere
Amália Boutique Suites & Studios in Faro offers a calm, cosy, relaxing and pleasant atmosphere. The meticulous decor helps create a soothing atmosphere. We were won over by the Balinese-inspired furnishings in the apartment and communal areas.

This bohemian style, with its soft colors and natural materials, enhanced from time to time by pops of color, made our stay pleasant and soothing.

The room
Our room was cosy, sober, natural and bright, with a pleasant, well-cared-for decor. The bohemian, welcoming atmosphere was enhanced by the wood and soft colors used, as well as by pretty materials like rattan and wicker. Monochrome paintings with geometric reliefs, patterned parquet flooring, wicker baskets and straw chandeliers added a touch of charm to the room. Air-conditioning is a big plus in this hot part of Portugal.

The large table and chairs are perfect for a quiet dinner. The comfortable sofa lets you enjoy the flat-screen TV while sipping a RITUALS herbal tea.

The beautiful four-poster bed charmed us. It invites you to enjoy a good night’s rest. The rack and hangers in the bedroom are ideal for storing your clothes. Finally, the view from our apartment was nothing special, but overlooked a quiet street with whitewashed walls.

The kitchen
We really liked the pretty little kitchenette. In particular, the colorful SMEG refrigerator matches the rest of the appliances, as does the well-equipped kitchenette with kettle, coffee maker, hood, microwave, dishwasher and toaster. You’ll also find plates, pots and pans, a colander, cups, bowls and glasses, a cutting board, cutlery and kitchen utensils.

The condiments provided are very much appreciated, as they make cooking easy without having to buy the kind of products that are usually left in the accommodation after departure.

We were delighted to discover a hand blender in the kitchen, which enabled us to prepare a delicious soup that warmed us up and made for a cosy evening in this very warm apartment.
You’ll also find a first-aid kit, useful for the clumsy!

The bathroom
The bathroom in our room was equipped with a shower. We found hygiene products from the RITUALS cosmetics brand. We loved this spacious, bright, nicely decorated and pleasant room.

Hygiene products are of good quality and the shower has a pleasant pressure. The towels are beautifully arranged on a wooden bench, echoing the room’s decor. Wall-mounted hooks are ideal for hanging clothes.

Swimming pool and jacuzzi
The Amália Boutique Suites & Studios features an outdoor area halfway between a garden and a tree-lined courtyard, where you’ll find the swimming pool, a Jacuzzi, pretty tables, deckchairs and Balinese beds, as well as a terrace with small tables ideal for breakfast.

The outdoor pool, elegantly surrounded by wood, made us want to dive in. If you visit Faro in summer, you’ll love lounging on the deckchairs. If you’re visiting Faro in winter, for example, you can use the Jacuzzi to enjoy the garden when the temperatures are no longer summery, adding a touch of warmth and romance to your stay.
