This restaurant offers typical, tasty dishes featuring seafood. Enjoy freshly caught fish prepared according to traditional Algarve recipes. This address will win you over with its generous local cuisine. You’ll be tempted by linguine with shrimp or grilled sea bass fillet. For those wishing to eat lighter, there’s a great selection of salads: smoked salmon salad, Caesar salad or fresh tuna salad. The establishment also offers vegan options. Desserts deserve special attention, with mouth-watering cakes displayed under glass. The children’s menu features simple, kid-friendly dishes – hamburgers, sausages, chicken nuggets or fish sticks – all served with fries. This makes it a particularly family-friendly address!

3. Restaurant Terra Cotta (Italian cuisine, rooftop)
This fine dining establishment offers typical Italian dishes that are very well prepared. You’ll find pasta arrabiata, burrata with fresh tomatoes and homemade ravioli. Other specialties include seafood risotto and salada caprese . You’ll appreciate the meticulous presentation of the dishes and the friendly setting of the rooftop overlooking the Arade River. It’s the ideal place to sip a cocktail at sunset. As for desserts, we were intrigued by the “Terra Cotta”. It’s made with a honey cookie, seasonal berries, cream and grated chocolate. There are also more classic options, from tiramisu to ice cream.

This restaurant is ideally located on the port, directly facing the River Arade. The authentic, even rustic setting creates a warm atmosphere. Here you’ll discover traditional Portuguese cuisine, with Bacalhau (cod), monkfish and clam cataplana, baked octopus and fried cuttlefish. Generous portions and preparations that respect local recipes testify to the restaurant’s savoir-faire. You’ll also find a children’s menu featuring hamburgers, chicken nuggets or breaded fish served with fries. This good address wins you over with its fresh, well-balanced cuisine, served in a young, friendly atmosphere. The menu features generous poke bowls combining fresh salmon, rice, quinoa, mango, avocado, edamame, wakame, red cabbage, corn, cherry tomatoes and a mix of seeds. You’ll also find salads, pastas, ceviches, tapas and wraps, ideal for a light meal. The establishment also offers a complete brunch formula: bruschetta, croissant topped with cheese spread and avocado, crispy chicken with thyme mayonnaise, oat pancakes served with fruit and peanut butter, not forgetting plain yoghurt and granola.

6. Restaurant Kalu Beach Bar (Praia Grande)
This Beach Bar is located directly on the Praia Grande. You’ll love its simple but effective dishes for a day at the beach. Lighter options include goat-honey salad with cashew nuts, or tropical salad with fruit and shrimp tempura with peanut butter sauce. For those with a sweet tooth, try the Kalu hamburger with beef, goat cheese, smoked salmon and homemade sauce, or the Praia Grande hamburger with beef, cheese, chorizo, onion, jalapeños, garlic and sweet chili sauce. Veggie versions are available: burger, wrap, toast. A friendly, good-value address, perfect for lunch between 2 swims, with your feet in the sand!

This charming restaurant is set in a narrow cobbled street. The outdoor tables allow you to enjoy this picturesque setting, while the interior is decorated in a rustic style. This table is located directly on the Port of Ferragudo, facing the Arade River. We enjoyed this pleasant, soothing environment in which to sample local specialties. The fish of the day is served with a mixed salad and Algarve potatoes. On the menu, you’ll discover a selection of pan-fried specialties:Arroz de Lingueirão (a traditional Portuguese dish with rice and razor clams), rice with seafood and lobster, or fresh fish cataplana. Meat dishes include beef steak, lamb chops and grilled pork ribs. This diversity of choice, combined with the view of the river, is appreciated.

We wanted to include the following 2 addresses in our article on Ferragudo’s best restaurants, because we’ve tried them out and liked them. One for its idyllic setting atop the ochre cliffs for which the Algarve is famous, and the other for a pleasant sweet break between 2 visits to the village center.
Restaurant O Molhe (Praia do Molhe)
Restaurant O Molhe, perched atop the cliffs, offers exceptional views of the ocean and Praia do Molhe. Without claiming to offer gourmet cuisine, the establishment remains a particularly practical and pleasant option for its setting. We recommend traditional dishes and fish, which are often the most successful. The catch of the day is displayed in a glass case at the entrance to the restaurant, guaranteeing the freshness of the produce!
