Looking for a beautiful beach surrounded by nature, just a stone’s throw from Albufeira? Santa Eulália Beach surprised us with its balance of understated elegance and relaxed ambience. Surrounded by golden cliffs and pine forests, this spacious beach opens gently onto the ocean. Far from the hustle and bustle of the city center, you’ll find a soothing atmosphere and restaurants overlooking the landscape. Here you can sunbathe, walk or enjoy lunch with your feet in the sand. A great option if you’re looking for an accessible, pretty and relaxing beach, without the crowds!
Here are some useful tips for planning your visit to the Praia Santa Eulália inAlbufeira.

Is the Praia Santa Eulália worth it?
Yes, Praia Santa Eulália is well worth a visit if you’re staying in Albufeira. Located away from the tourist hotspot, this beach won us over with its surprisingly unspoilt natural setting. Surrounded by beautiful pine forests and ochre limestone and clay cliffs, it offers a more peaceful atmosphere than some of the resort’s other beaches.
It’s a far cry from the hustle and bustle of downtown Albufeira, often compared to a mini Las Vegas with its gaudy neon lights and lively bars. Santa Eulália offers a more elegant, more natural alternative, while remaining well-equipped: well-maintained wooden facilities, beachside restaurants, easy access and surveillance. It’s a beach we particularly recommend for couples or families looking for a pleasant spot, without being totally isolated.
It’s one of Albufeira’s most beautiful beaches and also one of the town’s main attractions!

Beach type: sandy, supervised…
Sand or no sand?
The beach floor is made of fine ochre-colored sand. We loved dipping our toes into it!

Swimming conditions and supervision
The access slope to the water is gentle. The rocks on either side of the beach are a haven for biodiversity. It’s the ideal beach for snorkeling.
Signs indicate that the beach is supervised in season, and we saw lifeguards there.

Installations
We found showers and toilets right on the beach. Deckchairs are also available for hire.

Useful information
Dog
Dogs are not allowed on the beach.
Reduced mobility access
The beach is accessible to people with reduced mobility. We saw an access ramp and a wooden path on the sand to make it easier for people with reduced mobility to get around.

For your information: we have learned that in Portugal, 244 seaside areas are accessible to people with reduced mobility. These beaches are identified by a white flag bearing the “Plage accessible” symbol in blue and yellow. They feature reserved parking spaces, adapted pedestrian access, walkways over the sand and accessible toilets. Find out more here.

With children
The slope is gentle and ideal for a visit with children.
- On the other hand, beware of the swell, which can form large waves in bad weather.
- You should also be careful not to sit under cliffs, even if they offer some shade: there is a risk of falling rocks.

Naturism
It is not possible to practice naturism on this beach.

Eating out
You’ll find a fast-food stand set up right on the beach, as well as numerous restaurants overlooking it.
