Looking for an unspoilt beach near Ferragudo? Praia da Infanta offers an exceptional natural setting with its fine blond sand and imposing cliffs. This small beach, more difficult to access via an irregular path, charmed us with its wild, unspoilt character.
In this article, find our photos and tips for making the most of your waterside getaway.

This opinion is completely independent, based on our experiences. We visited the region anonymously, making our own choices and paying our bills in full.
Is the Praia da Infanta worth it?
Yes, it’s one of Portimão’s most beautiful beaches. We appreciated the absolute tranquility of this place, far from the busier areas. The effort required to reach this natural pearl is amply rewarded by the serenity it brings. Here you’ll find the perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of the tourist trade for a moment of pure relaxation overlooking the ocean.

Type of beach
Sand or no sand?
The beach floor is made up of fine blond sand, but it’s completely wet. It is also made up of rocks of varying sizes, which are not ideal for sunbathing. It’s a beach that will appeal more to the adventurous or contemplative.

Swimming conditions and supervision
This beach is not supervised. You should therefore be particularly careful when swimming, especially as there are many rocks both on the sand and in the water. The slope to enter the water is relatively gentle. Watch the ballet of boats entering and leaving the Port of Portimão.

Installations
We couldn’t find any equipment on site. This beach retains its totally wild character, which contributes to its authentic charm, but requires that you bring all the necessary equipment for your visit. We recommend that you bring your own water, swimming shoes, mask and snorkel, food and any other equipment you may need.

OUR ADVICE FOR RENTING A CAR IN THE Algarve
- Compare prices on our preferred platform: DiscoverCars – one of the best rated sites.
- Don’t take a car that’s too wide, as old towns have narrow streets and small parking spaces.
- For more choice, book early.

Access from the parking lot
From the Restaurant O Molhe parking lot, access to the beach is via an irregular, steep path. We recommend that you bring suitable footwear for walking, as the terrain can be slippery. The trail requires a certain amount of caution, but we found it well worth the effort to discover this unspoilt natural beach.

Public transport access
Praia da Infanta is not easily accessible by bus. The nearest stop, “Vale Azinhaga (Pq. Campismo)”, is about a 20-minute walk from the beach, which can be a constraint in the heat. If you’re still interested, visit the official bus network website for more information here. We also noticed a sign at the Restaurant O Molhe parking lot indicating a hop-on hop-off tourist bus called “Rota das Falésias”, but we couldn’t find any reliable information about it on site or on the internet.

Special features
Dog
We didn’t see any signs about dog access to the beach.

Reduced mobility access
There are no facilities for disabled access. The irregular, steep path and lack of special facilities make this beach difficult to access for wheelchair users or those with mobility difficulties, especially on the final stretch which includes steps.

With children
The beach is not ideal for a visit with children, due to the uneven, steep access path. We recommend particular vigilance if you decide to visit with your family, especially in view of the access conditions and lack of on-site supervision.

Naturism
We didn’t see any signs about whether naturism was allowed on this beach.
Other restrictions
Signs are in place to warn of the risk of falling rocks on the ochre cliffs. It is essential to follow these instructions for your own safety.
Eating out
There are no catering options directly on the beach. On the other hand, Restaurant O Molhe, perched atop the cliffs, offers an exceptional view of the ocean. Without claiming to offer gourmet cuisine, the establishment remains a particularly practical and pleasant option for its setting. We recommend traditional dishes and fish, which are often the most successful.
