Going to the Algarve in October: quick answers
Is the weather good in the Algarve in October? Is this a good time to visit?
October is our favorite month to visit the Algarve. This period offers very pleasant conditions with mild temperatures between 20°C and 24°C. You’ll enjoy around 8 to 10 hours of sunshine a day, with the possibility of a few rainy days. The sea remains relatively warm (21°C) and the region is calm again after the summer season. Prices are attractive and it’s an excellent time to discover the region from the beaches to the hinterland.

Travelling to the Algarve in October: summary of conditions
Temperatures
Temperatures remain mild. The thermometer displays an average of 20°C (68°F) to 24°C (75°F). The days are pleasant for outdoor activities.
Water temperatures
The water temperature in the Algarve is still pleasant at around 21°C (70°F), making it ideal for swimming, even if some of you may be a little chilly.
Crowds and prizes
The low season is gradually settling in. Tourists are far less numerous and prices are becoming very attractive.
Opening conditions
Most tourist facilities remain open. Some beach establishments are starting to reduce their opening hours or close.
Day
The length of daylight decreases, with around 11h of daylight between sunrise and sunset.

Climate in the Algarve in October – weather forecast
The climate is becoming more autumnal, but still pleasant.
On the coast
Along the coast, from Lagos to Tavira, the climate remains mild, with a mix of sunny days and occasional cloudy spells. Precipitation is rising slightly. We found the conditions ideal for cliff-top coastal hikes.
Inland
The hinterland experiences similar temperatures with cooler mornings, ideal for hiking and exploring.
