If you&#8217;re looking for a convenient area to do everything on foot, Baixa is the place for you: it&#8217;s the flattest part of Lisbon, making it easy to get around. If you stay here, you&#8217;ll be just a few minutes from the <em>Chiado<\/em> district and within easy reach of the main transport links ( <em>Baixa-Chiado, Rossio<\/em> metro stations). We found that <em>Baixa<\/em> offered an excellent compromise between accessibility and comfort. Staying in Alfama means experiencing Lisbon at its most authentic: evening fado concerts, neighborhood markets and frequent panoramic views from the <em>miradouros<\/em><em>(Santa Luzia, Portas do Sol<\/em>). However, you&#8217;ll have to accept the steep alleys and the occasional echo of the busy streets at night.
